Parish Priest
The current priest at the Parish and Community of Sts. Paraskevi and Barbara is Reverend Father Alexios Kapandritis.
Rev. Father Alexios is a respected priest and confessor with over 15 years of experience in both Greece and Australia. Born in Patras and raised in Akrata, Peloponnese, he migrated to Australia with his wife, Presbytera Theodora, and their newborn twins in early 2015. Upon arriving in Australia, Fr. Alexios served as the Parish Priest at the Greek Orthodox Church of Sts. Theodore in Townsville - QLD. During his nine years of service there, he and Presbytera Theodora were blessed with two more children.
Fr. Alexios has extensive experience in pastoral care, serving in hospitals, nursing homes, prisons, and universities. He has also been actively engaged in catechizing non-Orthodox individuals. He holds a degree in Theology from the University of Athens and a Master's from the University of Thessaloniki.
On 18th October, 2023, Fr. Alexios Kapandritis was officially appointed as the Parish Priest of our beloved Parish of Saint Paraskevi and Saint Barbara in Blacktown. He conducted his first Divine Liturgy on Sunday, 29th October, 2023.
